Some storage containers have been designed to hold only certain types of food, but these containers will hold food from all the main food groups, such as meat, dairy, and fruits and vegetables. If you use the appropriate tabs, you'll be able to peer quickly at any container and see exactly how long you've been storing the food inside. You won't have to do this when using Skinny Stacks, though, as each container's built-in tracker will keep track of that with a quick slide of a tab. With other food storage containers, you'll have to write down the day and month in which you place each container in a food storage space if that information's important to you. Furthermore, each transparent lid is resistant to tearing or puncturing, which means that one of these containers will likely last you for several years or more, even if it gets bumped around in a freezer. That means you'll be able to get a good idea of whether it's still OK for eating before you even open a lid. You'll always be able to see the condition of the food you've stored in one of these containers, at first glance, due to each one's transparent lid. If you don't have a dishwasher, each one can also be hand-washed. ![]() Plus, you'll be able to clean this type of container in your dishwasher, if you have one, whenever any of them get dirty. You'll simply be able to pop the original container (without its lid) inside. Consequently, if you want to heat some stored food in the microwave, you won't even have to move it to another dish to do so. These containers can be safely put in the microwave and the dishwasher. If you decide to stack your Skinny Stacks, you'll likely save yourself at least a few inches of space, both horizontally and vertically, in any food storage area. It can be awkward to stack containers of different sizes in a refrigerator, freezer, or cupboard, but these ones will all be the same size and fit nicely on top of each other. Whenever you want to eat the food inside one of these containers, all you'll need to do is pop it open.Īs alluded to above, this type of container is compact, and if you use more than one, they're also stackable. No matter where you put it, the airtight seal of its silicone lid should keep it safe from degeneration for up to several weeks, depending on the type of food that's being stored. ![]() ![]() Once you've set your container's freshness tracker, you can transfer it to your refrigerator, your freezer, or a cupboard of your choice. ![]() To do so, slide this tracker to the appropriate date and month. On one side of your container's frame, you'll find a sliding freshness tracker that you can use to keep track of when you first put food in each Skinny Stacks container. As you close the lid, its silicone material will stretch over pieces of food of nearly any shape, size, or texture without ripping or picking up a hole. Next, close the transparent silicone lid of your container-when it's fully closed, you'll hear it lightly snap shut. If your food won't fill up the whole surface, placing it as close to the middle as possible is best. Place some food, such as a few slices of cheese, some watermelon chunks, or virtually anything else on the white surface. To get started with your Skinny Stacks, place one of them on your counter so the white inner surface is facing upward and you can see the turquoise blue rim around the outside.
